About Dr. Marvin Greenberg, MD.

Dr. Marvin Greenberg lived for many years in the city he was born in: the bustling world of Brooklyn, NY. After many years of school in New York and graduation from Stuyvesant High School in Manhattan, Dr. Greenberg began to move around the country. He received his BS from MIT and then his Master’s in Public Health from the University of Michigan. Finally, he earned his MD degree from the University of Miami. His general surgery internship and ophthalmology residency were completed in Washington, DC at Georgetown University. He returned to Florida after his residency, opened his practice in Tamarac in 1980, and has been treating his patients with impeccable medical skills and eyecare for over thirty years since. At Dr. Greenberg’s office, the Golden Rule is their top priority: treat everyone as you would want to be treated.

While his practice focuses on patients’ general eye care, Dr. Greenberg has kept up with rapidly developing advancements in the field of cataract surgery. While cataract surgery used to take 45 minutes to complete, it can now be done in a much shorter amount of time with smaller incisions, less anesthesia, and no sutures, patch, or injections. Technological developments also continue to change the way doctors interact with and treat their patients. One such development is the Ophthalmic Computerized Tomography (OCT), which is an essential part of diagnosing and treating macular disease and glaucoma. Dr. Greenberg and his staff perform visual field testing for glaucoma, cataracts, corneal topography, and fundus photography.

Dr. Greenberg is on the staff of several hospitals in Broward County, but almost all his eye surgeries are now performed at outpatient surgery centers. Dr. Greenberg is a founding member of two of the best in the area: Broward County Baptist Eye Surgery Center and Surgery Center at Coral Springs. He was also one of the founding members of Eye Physicians of Florida, the largest ophthalmology group in Florida. These days, Dr. Greenberg is a physician here at Advanced Eye Surgeons in Tamarac, FL.

When he is not in his office or surgery centers, Dr. Greenberg can be found at home with his wife Barbara, to whom he has been married since 1969. Together, they have 5 daughters; two still live at home while one is in college and the other two have grown up. Dr. Greenberg still loves his work as much now as he did when he started. He knows that every one of his patients will be treated like his own family.
